Hello,

I'm really looking forward to The Mulberry Tree playlist this Sunday, August 16. It's a program I've wanted to air for months, featuring songwriters and musicians of color.  As encore shows were airing, it allowed me the time and energy to research the music and present the energy and emotion successfully to you for the hour.  This week's sneak peek playlist video features the beautiful voice and stage presence of Valerie June, performing tenderly "Tennessee Time" from "Pushin' Against a Stone."  Valerie wrote this wonderful song about her home state.  Her sound and style are very Appalachian to me, and her simplicity in delivery allows us to be transported to a time when Appalachian music was coming to life and being shared.  Please join me and my special musical guests around the tree this Sunday.  Have a great week, everyone.
