SPRING CREEK MORN
By Emily Higgins and Steve Chaney

Deep in the forest
Down in the hollow
Tucked back in the hills
Are the paths I follow

To my secret wading pool
In a gin-clear stream
It’s there upon the bank
I sit and I dream

Redbuds and dogwoods
Hives of honeybees
Black gold walnut
And tall sycamore trees

I don’t mind the…cottonmouths, copperheads
Honey locust thorns
Don’t even fear the Blue Man
On a Spring Creek morn

(INSTRUMENTAL BREAK)

CHORUS
I think of all the creatures here
How the eagles return every year
The leaves grow then they fall
I feel a part of it all…

(INSTRUMENTAL BREAK)

Deep in the forest
Down in the hollow
Tucked back in the hills
Are the paths I follow (pause)

To the moonrocks and sandstone
That lie beneath these boots I’ve worn
While walking in the mist
On a Spring Creek morn
