Emily is a singer-songwriter performing original music to audiences at house concerts, festivals, coffeehouses, live radio interviews and performances, listening rooms and concert halls. Since 2014 she has fronted the band Auntie Em and the Tornadoes and is a former member of The HigLeeWils who disbanded during the Covid pandemic. Band member Larry Lee passed away in May, 2025. Emily occasionally provides backup vocals and instrumentation as part of of the Layton Hollow Gals who perform the songs of Grammy -Nominated songwriter Johnny Mullins.

Under Emily's belt are four all-original CD's, "Singing River," "The House at the End of the Road," and "On the Square." Emily's fourth collection of originals, "91 Acres," was commissioned by a rural Missouri landowner and highlights stories of land reclamation, wildlife, geographical features, nature and apiculture.

Emily continues to produce and host her weekly radio show "The Mulberry Tree" airing Sundays at 9 pm CentralĀ on KSMU, Springfield, Missouri's NPR affiliate station. The Mulberry Tree features tracks from singer-songwriters, new and traditional folk, folk-pop and local-regional musicians. Choose "The Mulberry Tree" from the menu to learn more about it. Emily continues to pursue songwriting and performing. She resides in the hills of the beautiful Missouri Ozarks.
