Lyrics
HONEYFLOW
By Emily Higgins
A solitary drone sets out on his own
With his big, dark eyes, he’ll find her when she flies
It’s the reason for his birth, and short time on the earth
And so they find their way on a warm and sunny day
Then she leaves and finds another, for the need to be a mother
But it’s an ordinary scene, his dying for the queen.
SOLO (mournful, soulful)
See the girls among the flowers working hours and hours
Nectar for the hive to keep them all alive
I’ve come to know it well, that intoxicating smell
CHORUS
And when springtime breezes blow
That’s when I will know
That it’s time…for the honeyflow
SOLO
Summer’s come and gone, Autumn’s coming on
Those that will remain are links upon the chain
In the winter they’ll keep her warm and contented in the swarm
REPEAT CHORUS
And when springtime breezes blow
That’s when I will know
That it’s time…for the honeyflow
Honey…honey flow
Honey…honey flow
Honey…honey flow…
