July 15th - Tribute to Levon Helm

Hi everyone! Hello from Missouri, the "drought" state. All 114 of our counties have been declared disaster areas. It is really a terrible situation for our farmers, and so many people for so many reasons. Let's all stay positive that this will end soon. IMPORTANT NOTE: Remember, The Mulberry Tree will air at 8 p.m. CST instead of 10 p.m. on its regular day (Sunday) as NPR makes a temporary scheduling change. The Mulberry Tree returns to it's regular 10 p.m. time slot on Sunday, August 12, 2012. This Sunday I am featuring a special edition of The Mulberry Tree - a tribute to Levon Helm, former member of The Band and an incredible musician and human being. Levon passed away on April 19th, so this Sunday please join me as I present an hour of Levon's music and interviews with prominent local and regional musicians, songwriters and producers who will contribute their thoughts about Levon. Rest in peace, Levon Helm. FCC regulations prohibit the posting of full playlists prior to airtime, so that is why I am only able to let you know the names of featured musicians in advance. I will try to do for you every week. You can view Mulberry Tree playlists in their entirety after the show is over by going to this link: http://ksmu.org/show/mulberry-tree The Mulberry Tree airs on KSMU 91.1 FM, Springfield Missouri's NPR affiliate station, and also at the following locations: Branson - 90.5, West Plains - 90.3, Mountain Grove - 88.7, Joplin - 98.9 and Neosho - 103.7. AND we also stream live at www.ksmu.org. Meet you on the airwaves! Emily
