June 10th - A very special Mulberry Tree

Hi everyone! This Sunday, June 10th will be a special tribute to the late Keith Summers, who passed away recently and who was a strong advocate for public radio, KSMU in particular. Keith appeared as a guest host on the Mulberry Tree several times, and the show I remember most aired on June 20, 2010 when Keith took the wheel for me one Sunday evening and provided great music. So for the June 10th show I’m bringing you the entire playlist from that show, and will also interject some of the sentiments Keith expressed that evening. I hope you can tune in for some great music and to send out some good thoughts to Keith's family and friends. The following artists will be featured on The Mulberry Tree Sunday, June 10th. Neil Young & the Stray Gators Townes Van Zandt (2 tracks total) Guy Clark (3 tracks throughout the show) Bonnie Raitt John Prine Nanci Griffith Emmylou Harris David Olney Kris Kristofferson Buddy Miller Patti Griffin FCC regulations prohibit the posting of full playlists prior to airtime, but I am able to let you know the names of featured musicians in advance, which I try to do for you every week. You can view Mulberry Tree playlists in their entirety after the show is over by going to this link: http://ksmu.org/show/mulberry-tree The Mulberry Tree airs at 10 p.m. CST on KSMU 91.1 FM, Springfield Missouri's NPR affiliate station, and also at the following locations: Branson - 90.5, West Plains - 90.3, Mountain Grove - 88.7, Joplin - 98.9 and Neosho - 103.7. AND we also stream live at www.ksmu.org. SPECIAL NOTE! Effective Sunday, July 1, 2012, for six weeks The Mulberry Tree will air at 8 p.m. CST on its regular day (Sunday) so NPR can air a six-week series at the 10 p.m. slot. Hope to meet you on the airwaves! Emily
